Roger Harrington and Dominic Harvey of Wilderness Gathering fame came over for a few days to my part of the world, North Eastern Slovakia. We had a great time wandering around forests, walking up hills, dodging potholes and nocturnal stags on the roads, sleeping in remote cabins and enjoying the medieval splendour of Bardejov. They even taught my kids how to properly use fire steels, which Roger kindly gave from the new Bison Bushcraft line.
ThIs photo was taken on the hill summit bet ween Cerveny Klastor and Lesnica, in the Pieniny national park. The Tatra Mountains, the highest point of the Carpathian Range, can be seen in the distance.
My name is Edward O'Toole and I live in one of the wildest, most beautiful parts of Europe, in the Carpathian Mountains of Eastern Slovakia. Life is an adventure - both physically and metaphysically...
I've been living out here for the last 22 years, along with my wife, 3 kids and Jack Russell.
My main interests involve bushcraft, prepping, survival and wilderness living (self-sufficiency and self-reliance), ecological, green, smart and natural solutions, motorcycles and motorbike club life, writing and art (I have 7 published books), and exploring the paranormal.

Fine gentlemen indeed.
I did a Wilderness First Aid course with Bison Buscraft a few years back, it was very thorough, hands on and practical. Roger and his crew are excellent instructors.

It was an honour to host them. I have the greatest respect for individuals who dedicate their lives to their passions.
