Wolf scat

We’d just left the forest after collecting some late Birch Boletes and stumbled across this pile of wolf scat. It was just on the forest edge where it met the meadow, which told me that it was marking its boundary and that it was fairly fresh. In terms of scat identification, this pile really is the poster boy of what to look out for. It’s also scary as hell as it means the beast that laid it was very large and was most likely still fairly close by.
